The Houston Annual Art Car Parade

The Houston Annual Art Car Parade began in 1988 as a small gathering of eclectic hot-rodders and some 40-odd, impressive (albeit slightly bizarre) rides. In 2008, the Art Car Parade drew more than 250 participants, apparently because hey, you can’t spend all your time at Burning Man… While some of the cars seemed to indicate heavy inspiration from both illegal drugs and Crayola, some of the decidedly aftermarket rides, like the truck pictured above, were so impressively customized they seemed downright SEMA-worthy.
